Leadership and team assessments
Robin is an accredited and experience practitioner on a range of assessment tools that evaluates a persons leadership potential and performance and are used by many organisations to help them identify and develop their leaders. Robin works with organisations to help them define success profiles for key executive roles which are then used to build assessment tools. This enables the organisation to more clearly understand what talent they have and where they have gaps. If organisations are hiring external talent then success profiles help select the best fit candidates and help identify their development needs to ensure a robust and successful onboarding experience. This approach enables organisations to be bolder in their internal talent strategy pushing their internal talent further and faster. It also gives organisations more confidence when hiring externally as risk factors are better understood and managed.
Inter team development
Value is created in organisation by multiple sets of teams working in coordination and collaboration. Many organisation fail to invest the time and energy to ensure these teams are effective in working together resulting in their individual and collective performance being compromised. This drag effect where teams never seem to quite reach their potential, change initiatives stall or fail to deliver the value they promise are common indicators of poor inter team capabilities. Robin has worked with a large range of global organisations where complex matrix structures and highly segmented functional and brand teams need to effectively operate in concert. He knows first hand the challenges these teams can face and is experienced in supporting teams to find new and innovative ways to better collaborate vs compete.
Intra team development
A team should be more than the sum of its parts. Yet many teams fail to deliver. While individuals are unique, teams fail and succeed in predictable ways and can be set up and supported for success. Robin is a highly experienced team facilitator and coach working with board and executive teams to help them maximise their impact as a team. Robin uses a range of tools to help raise awareness and build a common language around the preferences, strengths and motivational drivers to build better relationships within teams to maximise trust and collaboration . He uses a range of team effectiveness models that enables the team to be more explicit around how they operate looking across 6 dimensions: alignment, ways of working, empowerment, passion, commitment and results.
Team facilitation
The diversity that is an inherent in every team can also be a source of conflict. Team facilitation is a process of using an expert facilitator to help support the team to embrace and include its diversity, to be more open and curious and to navigate opposition, avoiding conflict. This process enables a team to be faster and be more effective in it’s diagnosing and decision making of key issues, freeing up the leader to be a fully participating team member. Team Facilitation helps to improve the overall skill of the team to self manage but also provides very useful expert support for critical meetings where a breakthrough is needed. Key opportunities for facilitation upport include: strategy development , major changes, incorporation of new team members, assimilation of a new leader into a team.
